Pop star Kanye West beamed onto stage for a special guest appearance for the DJ duo NASA concert at the El Rey. The two DJs, Squeak E Clean (Sam Spiegel) and Zegon (Ze Gonzales), appeared onstage via a makeshift aircraft and began performing their intergalactic themed hits for members of the audience. The craft featured multi-colored flashing lights and the word NASA outside the ship. Once on stage, the two performed songs from their debut album, The Spirit of Apollo, in addition to performing never before heard mashups of artists like Pink Floyd, LCD Soundsystem, The Rolling Stones & The Jackson 5.
It wasn’t until the end of their set that Kanye West made his presence known. He was virtually beamed from a remote location to grace the audience with his presence to introduce “Gifted,” a song featuring Lykke Li and Santigold. This initiated complete excitement from the crowd who responded by rushing the stage and joining in on a massive dance party. Sounds like the sort of fun I hate to miss. In lieu of enjoying their live performance check out their music video for “Gifted” and tell us what you think in the comments!
