The 52nd Grammy Award Nominees Annouced With A Concert!
LL Cool J started off the Grammy Nomination Concert with a rap medley that highlighted some of the best songs of 2009 featuring music by the AMP artists’ Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift. If LL’s intended to send a message to viewers that he’s still got it, it was delivered.
Without wasting any time, LL Cool J introduced the Black Eyed Peas who performed part of “I’ve Got A Feeling” and invited viewers to send in a <!–20 second clip of themselves singing along to the song, which has the potential to be aired on the 52nd Grammy Awards Show on January 31st.
George Lopez introduces the nominees for Song of the Year, which include songs by Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift. Sugarland was introduced and she sang her Christmas song “Coming Home.” It’s festive blusey sound brings new flavor to the biggest holiday of the year.
Members of Linkin Park announce the nominees for Album Of The Year nominees. When they’re done, Joe and Kevin Jonas follow the nominations by introducing their little brother Nick’s solo project and first performance ever. Where did the time go? Kevin’s getting married, Nick has his own album, what’s next?
Maxwell does an incredible tribute to Michael Jackson by performing Michael’s song “Lady In My Life,” off of Michael’s Thriller album. Wow, it’s hard to cover anything by Michael Jackson, he is the King of Pop, but somehow Maxwell’s smooth falsetto is able to bang that song out in a way that could impress Michael himself!
Katy Perry took the stage in a super cute white embroidered dress to highlight some of the best rock albums of the year before announcing the nominees for Best Rock Album. Then T-Pain came out to announce the nominees for Best Rap Solo Performance. LL Cool J asks Drake what it’s like to be nominated after it’s announced that he’s up for the award for Best Rap Solo Performance.
Dwight Yoakam announced the nominations for the awards in country music and Smokey Robinson & Ringo Starr took the stage to announce the nominees for Record Of The Year who include Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas, Kings Of Leon, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift. They also named the nominees for Album Of The Year Beyonce, The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews Band, & Taylor Swift.
The same band that introduced the show takes us out, The Black Eyed Peas, which works cause they can totally put on a show. And did I mention, Fergie looks incredible! Beyonce stole the show with 10 nominations, but Taylor Swift was close behind her with 8 nominations! Wow, it’s a big day for the both of them.
