Everyone can agree that this past year has been incredible for pop starlit Taylor Swift. At just 20-years-old she’s managed to make herself a household name without compromising her values while having the best selling album of the year, sold out tour dates and a ton of awards including Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year award and eight Grammy nominations.

However, Taylor isn’t getting a big head over it. She says that she’s the same person she’s always been and that is the true measure of her ability to succeed. The singer went on to say:
You can stay the same person, even if everything around you changes. I would like to think everybody out there isn’t just waiting for me to trip and fall and stumble out of a club drunk. People know I’m not a party girl. I’m not hiding some dying urge to be out clubbing right now.
Taylor sounds like she’s managed to determine how to balance her achievements with her personal life, which is probably the true measure of success. It’s nice to see someone dominating the news without having to take their pants off or go insane.
In addition to Taylor, People Magazine names the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; Mo’Nique; Barack and Michelle Obama; Sandra Bullock; Neil Patrick Harris; governor gone rogue Sarah Palin; kidnap survivor Jaycee Dugard; Rihanna and more on their list.
What do you think of the list? Should Taylor have been on top or is there someone else in 2009 that deserved to be put on the cover? Let us know what you think in the comments!
