Shortly after leaving a photo shoot yesterday, Kid Cudi and his entourage were pulled over and detained by Los Angeles Police Department. Their cars were pulled over and they were asked to exit the vehicle at gunpoint.
To hear the rest of the story and photos from the scene keep reading! The passengers, including Cudi, were made to kneel on the ground with their hands behind their head and then handcuffed. It was at this point officers realized they had the wrong group of people and proceeded to release Kid and his entourage.
Kid took the incident in stride saying:
Who knows, really, the story changed a bunch. I’m just happy to be back. I’m a free man! For that moment I was not free. I was in handcuffs. It did not feel very comfortable. We’re in LA, it’s a rowdy place in the United States, you know? And a lot of s**t goes down. And these cops have to use force. So it’s, like, I understand that they were doing their job. I just wish we weren’t in that place at that time.
The police went on to explain that it was merely a case of mistaken identity made by the victim of a nearby burglary. I guess being famous does not mean you get away with every thing. This is a classic example of how facts are facts and the truth will set you free. Lucky for Cudi, the fact ended up being that he had nothing to do with the burglary and he was released.
What do you think, did the police act too harshly or did they justly stop the rapper and his entourage only to release them when they were sure of their identity? Let us know in the comments!
