Taylor Swift Beats Out Susan Boyle On CD Sales
The numbers are officially out, and the pop-country 19 year old sensation, Taylor Swift beat out Susan Boyle, Lady Gaga and our dearly departed Michael Jackson to make Fearless the Best Selling Album of 2009.
Nielsen SoundScan, which tracks the nation’s album sales published the numbers. Taylor Swift’s Fearless sold 3,217,000 copies while Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream was just shy of the #1 spot with 3,104,000 copies.
But it should be noted that Susan Boyle’s album only came out in late November. Coming in at #3 is Michael Jackson’s Number Ones with 2.3 million.
Lady Gaga came in #4 in this category, but don’t fret little monsters, your beloved Gaga ringed in 2009 with the most downloads beating out Black Eyed Peas, Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift. Lady Gaga’s The Fame was also the #1 digital album with 461,000 copies.
Which of these albums did you buy in 2009? Tell us in comments.
