Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha at the 2010 NRJ Music Awards
Saturday night was France’s biggest music event, the 2010 NRJ Music Awards, and many of our AMP artists were there to celebrate. Keep reading to check out which artists won international awards, see the top performers of the night, and find out about the Black Eyed Peas’ embarrassing moment.
France native David Guetta teamed up with the Black Eyed Peas on the opening performance, pumping up the crowd with their hit single “I Gotta Feeling.” Watch their performance below!
The big mistake of the night happened when presenters Ke$ha and French choreographer Kamel Ouali accidentally announced BEP won the award for International Group/Duo of the Year when the title belonged to German group Tokio Hotel.
After a harsh reaction from the crowd, Ouali apologized for the mistake and explained all the nominees were written on the card and he slipped up by reading the wrong name. BEP didn’t go home empty handed though, the group took home the prize for International Song of the Year for “I Gotta Feeling.”
Other winners of the night included Lady Gaga, Robbie Williams, David Guetta, and Rihanna, who took International Female Artist of the Year. Rihanna had her own slip up during her performance of “Russian Roulette” when she fell on the platform, but continued on unharmed and without skipping a beat. See her fiery performance for yourself!
Watch Jay-Z perform “Empire State of Mind” with Bridget Kelly!
