Tiger Woods Asks You To Believe In Him Again, Will You?
This morning, as Tiger Woods addressed friends, family and the public at large in a staged public apology, everyone seemed to focus on what the 34-year-old pro golfer had to say about his numerous affairs.
Tiger spoke from the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where he looked visibly upset, as though he may have been crying earlier, while addressing a room filled with television cameras and people he knows.

In the 13-minute speech, Tiger denounced his behavior and relationship with several women who are not his wife Elin saying:
Now every one of you has good reason to be critical of me. I want to say to each of you, simply and directly, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engaged in.
Tiger went on to describe his state of mind as “entitled” explaining that he felt entitled to the fruits of his labor, as he’d worked hard to get where he was in life and deserved to reap the benefits, but at the expense of the people he values the most.
He also defended his wife, where he looked not only serious, but sincere when saying on Thanksgiving there was never any incident of domestic violence by his wife Elin. He continued by admonishing the speculations saying they were hurtful to himself and his family:
Elin never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been an episode of domestic violence in our marriage, ever. Elin has shown enormous grace and poise throughout this ordeal. Elin deserves praise, not blame.
Tiger asked to have his family spared from the scrutiny of the media as he plans to embark in more rigorous therapy starting tomorrow. He continued by explaining that it was necessary to complete more therapy to “regain my balance and be centered so I can save the things that are most important to me, my marriage and my children.”
Tiger said he plans to return to golf, but does not know when that will be. However, he hinted that it could be as early as this year. Time will only tell, as his reemergence in the sport appears to be dependent on how he treatment goes.
Tiger seemed extraordinarily distraught about the shame he has brought not only to himself, but to the people associated with him. His wife Elin was not present for the press conference, but Woods’ mother was. At the end of the speech he hugged her, a moment that showed Tiger’s vulnerability and shame.
