Rumors are flying regarding who is directing Breaking Dawn, the final book in the Twilight series. AMP radio sets you straight.
Sources have told Entertainment Weekly three directors have been approached about directing Breaking Dawn. Rumors have it the studio has contacted Gus Van Sant (To Die For) Sophia Coppola (Marie Antoinette) and Bill Condon (Candyman: Farewell To The Flesh) about directing.
While the third book, Eclipse, is set for release on June 30 (click here for the trailer) it has not stopped Robert Patterson from voicing his opinion on the matter. Patterson previously said he thought Van Sant would be the perfect director because of the setting and the content of the film.
“He shoots everything in Portland. He’s good at making it look beautiful,” Pattinson said. “It’s all about teenage love and obsessions. I think Gus Van Sant would be great.”
Patterson’s right. With Van Sant, you’re getting Good Will Hunting, Milk and My Own Private Idaho. Coppola’s hit (Lost In Translation) or miss (Everything Else) and Condon (Dreamgirls) directed a movie with so much talent it was impossible for any director to mess up, including Troy Duffy.
