The final four Idol contestants take on cinematic tunes for movie night! Double threat artist, [lastfm]Jamie Foxx[/lastfm] was the guest mentor, schooling the kids on the difference between the “contestant” and their inner “artist” by making one of a kind t-shirts for the title they deserved.
Plus, the final four double up on performances, proving that having a musical buddy on your side results in a better performance than on their own.
The final four contestants proved they are all in it to win it, and it’s going to be a close call for who moves on the final three. Casey James stepped up his game and put a unique spin on the classic [lastfm]Simon and Garfunkel[/lastfm] hit “Mrs. Robinson,” but was his mini guitar enough to surpass the big hitters of the night?
The rest of the contestants all gave decent performances of their movie tunes, but no one really stood out as the top runner. The duet performances were far better than any of the Idols’ solo efforts, leaving many to wonder, will any of these contestants really be able to stand-alone as an artist if they win the title?
