“Beat LA!” was all that could be heard Sunday night inside the TD Garden after the Lakers game 6 loss 96-82. The arch rivals now travel across the country for games 6 and 7 in Los Angeles.  The Lakers are down 3-2 in the best of 7 series, and need to win the remaining two games in order to repeat as champs.

History isn’t supposed to repeat itself here, well history from 2008 at least. The Lakers have the better team this time around!

Just like in 08′ it became the Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant show. The two of them went back and forth hitting near impossible shots at the most opportune times. Pierce led the Celtics with 27 points on 12 of -21 shooting, and Bryant had his best game of the series with a game high with 38 points on 13 of -27 shooting. The Celtics had their best shooting game of the series at 56.3 percent, but much of it can be attributed to open shots created by poor Laker defense.

The two superstars couldn’t be heading in more different directions. Pierce is one game closer to winning the Boston Celtics their 18th title in NBA history and Kobe is one game closer to a summer of “what if’s,” world cup and Lebron James news.

After the game, Laker coach Phil Jackson sent out an S.O.S. for the remainder of his team.
