
It’s been two months since the BP oil rig exploded and sank into the Gulf of Mexico, releasing more than 1.5 million gallons of oil per day with no signs of it slowing down any time soon, endangering the lives of animals as well as our ecosystem. And now celebrities are stepping in in hopes of raising money for relief organizations.
Find out whose donating their time and effort in 3…2…1… Cameron Diaz, [lastfm]Justin Bieber[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Sting[/lastfm] are just some of the A-list celebrities participating in a telethon to benefit victims of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill on the Larry King Live special “Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help” tonight on CNN from 8 to 10 P.M. EDT.
The telethon will benefit relief organizations such as the National Wildlife Federation, the Nature Conservancy and United Way.
Other celebs scheduled to appear on tonight’s special two-hour episode also include:
Ted Danson, [lastfm]Lenny Kravitz[/lastfm], Randy Jackson, Jenny McCarthy, [lastfm]Tim McGraw[/lastfm], Alyssa Milano, Robert Redford, [lastfm]Ian Somerhalder[/lastfm], Melania and Ivanka Trump, Edward James Olmos and [lastfm]Pete Wentz[/lastfm].
The lead singer of rock band [lastfm]Korn[/lastfm], [lastfm]Jonathan Davis[/lastfm], is also attempting to unite musicians in boycotting BP, and is said to have already gotten fellow artists [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm], [lastfm]Creed[/lastfm] and the [lastfm]Backstreet Boys[/lastfm].
