Her Majesty, [lastfm]Madonna[/lastfm], is not only the queen of provocative pop but a couture chameleon who changes her look more than Tiger Woods changes…golf balls. On top of her musical success, the singer has dipped her lacy gloves into just about every business venture, including a soon-to-be released clothing line for Macy’s called Material Girl.
While Madge’s taste is rich, looking like her pre-Evita era is not; the sketches that have come out are reminiscent of the classic 1980s stylings we attribute to her.

The Material Girl collection is set to hit stores on August 3rd but the social media centric advertising campaign will start June 29th through Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace. Macy’s is putting a lot of energy into it’s online marketing including offering a trip for four to New York City to meet [lastfm]Madonna[/lastfm]. Who knows? Maybe you could be that “Lucky Star!”
Campaigns throughout San Francisco and New York are entitled “Who’s That Girl?” and will rock “a girl with bleached hair and very 80′s rocker style leather jacket with a rosary in her hand” and “the shops are to feature lace wallpaper with chain link fence wall paper.”
Expect to see a very 80s vibe: lace, acid wash denim, leather, bustiers, and fringe. Everything that helped [lastfm]Madonna[/lastfm] “express herself” in the “Like A Virgin” era.
