Katherine Jackson, 80, spoke to the crowd of dedicated fans who gathered. “Thanks for the fans from all over the world for their love and support and especially their love for Michael’s children during these trying times. This last year has been a very hard time for us. If it wasn’t for you all, the fans and the loved ones, we couldn’t have made it through.”
A tree was planted in Michael Jackson’s honor. City officials also say plans for a Jackson museum are finally getting underway. Comedian Eddie Griffin and courtroom reality show judge Greg Mathis were among the nearly 2,500-person crowd.
