Fergie: Grateful To Be A Pea
[lastfm]Fergie[/lastfm] may have started off as a child star on an ’80s Disney Channel show called Kid’s Incorporated, but she didn’t just catapult from wide-eyed, goldie-locked, musical youngster to a [lastfm]Black Eyed Pea[/lastfm] overnight; [lastfm]Fergie [/lastfm] had a lot of troubles along the way including poverty, homeless, and drug addiction.

The 35-year-old [lastfm]Black Eyed Peas[/lastfm] star grew up very fast. After she stopped singing in the all-girl group [lastfm]Wild Orchid[/lastfm] in 2001, she rapidly became addicted to crystal meth, lost all of her child acting money and had to live day by day:
“I had to move back to my mom’s and start collecting unemployment benefit because I had spent all my child actor money ‘ so I have been up and down with money. I appreciate the value of it.”
Her success and fame has never made this down-to-earth pop star ungrateful for her luxurious experiences. In fact, she embraces such these experiences with an unfettered joie de vivre:
“Riding in a private jet is very glamorous and I remember the first time we did it. We were so excited because they said whatever we wanted to eat we could order, so we went crazy and ordered lobster, shrimp, crab, rice, steak ‘ it was a huge feast.”
