The first sign that his daughter Cori, who was 6-years-old at the time, was not well was the appearance of a light spot on her face. Then weeks after the spot appeared, young Cori’s symptoms grew worse and she suffered severe weight loss and her hair began to fall out.
Frustration grew after the family took her to many doctors that performed countless tests, but offered no answers. His wife Shanté discussed the difficult process, “”No one could tell me what was wrong. They drew tons of blood and said she has old-person cells. They gave her all kinds of [medication]. But she went downhill.””
During an emotional interview with PEOPLE Snoop said, “I felt helpless.” “No power, no friends.”
It wasn’t until months later that Cori was finally diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus. The family was then able to begin the road to understanding this disease and what Cori is going to be fighting for the rest of her life.[pullquote quote="She's on the honor roll, playing volleyball and softball, living life.
