Over the past couple of months during her massive Last Girl On Earth world tour, [lastfm]Rihanna[/lastfm] had a couple minor slip ups while performing on stage resulting in minor injuries, but nothing too serious to keep her from rocking.
Wednesday night at the Staples Center, [lastfm]Rihanna[/lastfm]‘s set was absolutely flawless, hitting every note, every step and channeling her inner [lastfm]Slash[/lastfm] making the transition from pop princess to rock goddess.
Fans were carried off into Rihanna’s dream world, complete with a dazzling backdrop, moving stage pieces, acrobatic dancers and matrix-inspired costumes. Oh, and the crowd just about lost it when this guy showed up…
Fans collectively agreed that Rihanna’s Last Girl On Earth featuring openers [lastfm]Travie McCoy[/lastfm], [lastfm]Ke$ha[/lastfm] and…surprise! A special appearance from Eminem (more on that later…) was hands down the best concert of the summer so far.
Take a look at the fans, and what they thought of the concert:
Travie and Ke$ha got the crowd moving and psyched before Rihanna hit the stage (over an hour later after Ke$ha performed…) playing short sets their infectious hits, including a massive sing-along to “Billionaire” and a sea of dancing during “Tik Tok.” But come on, the sold out crowd at the Staples Center was really only there for one thing, and that was Barbadian powerhouse, Rihanna.
She had everything to make it a huge production including moving set pieces (like the crazy [lastfm]Jamiroquai[/lastfm] moving floor) a giant pink, confetti-shooting tank, acrobatic backup dancers that seemed to fly across the stage, and best of all, multiple costume changes ranging from light up dresses to skin-tight leather body suits with sky-high cuts revealing her sexy legs and figure.
But the highlight of the night had to be the surprise guest appearance from [lastfm]Eminem[/lastfm] for an exciting duet of their hit “Love The Way You Lie.” Rihanna broke into the song over a soft piano when all of a sudden Em popped right out of the stage and started spitting out the hard-hitting rhymes. Needless to say, the crowd flipped out and couldn’t believe what just happened, see it yourself below.
The night ended with the crowd-pleasing “Umbrella” with a confetti storm showering the Staples Center shot from the pink tank while Rihanna drifted back into the shadows of her stage display. The concert had it all — dancing, brilliant light displays, sexy outfits and all of our favorite Rihanna hits. Check out the photos from the concert and recap the exciting night!
