After swearing he was marked to be the next American Idol judge, rock icon [lastfm]Steven Tyler[/lastfm] has been confirmed by insiders for Season 10 of American Idol.
The past couple of years have been hard on Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler with falling offstage and returning to rehab, but it looks like everything’s turning out roses for the 62-year-old singer. It was confirmed today that he’ll be filling in one of the vacant judges seats on the American Idol table.
Fox remains mum on the issue, but E! claims that a very reliable source inside the music industry confirms that the aging rocker has signed on to mentor young idol hopefuls.
However, it is unclear if he is set to fill the spot left by former judges Paula Abdul or Simon Cowell. Hopefully, he’ll put his crazy hat on and take a page from Paula’s book. And if anyone can do it, it’s probably him, with his flamboyant rock star moves and bizarre wardrobe changes, this next season could actually be pretty interesting.
