[lastfm]Katy Perry[/lastfm] was a guest judge on “The X Factor” on ITV1, a UK television station, yesterday. Now, word comes from the Edinburgh Television Festival that the network is interested in adding Katy to its lineup permanently!
Perry is a top “target” for ITV2, the UK network that airs a great deal of American programming such as Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries.
“Katy is a target for us currently,” ITV2 programming head Zai Bennett said at Edinburgh. “She’s brilliant, a bulls-eye person. We are talking to her management about various shows.”
Bennett added that he “very much doubted it would be an observational documentary,” which is an adorably British way of saying that it won’t be a reality show following her and Mr. [lastfm]Katy Perry[/lastfm], Russell Brand, around.
Here’s Katy being a spaz on The X Factor, which aired yesterday:
And yes, Katy: Cheryl Cole is, in fact, so fine.
What type of show would you watch [lastfm]Katy Perry[/lastfm] in? And why is it ITV2 and not, say, MTV … or an American broadcast network?
