Since [lastfm]Britney Spears[/lastfm]‘ downfall the pop princess made a successful comeback, free of arrests and public mental breakdowns, allowing the media and fans to focus their attention on her music once again.
And despite her upcoming cameo on Glee, the 28-year-old has not released a new album since 2008’s Circus. But fans of her music need not stress anymore. She is back in the studio recording new music, and mega music producer Sean Garrett—whose worked with [lastfm]Beyonce[/lastfm], [lastfm]Usher[/lastfm], [lastfm]Whitney Houston[/lastfm] and Britney on her 2007 album, Blackout—is collaborating with the GRAMMY winner yet again.
At the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend, Garrett spoke about his collaboration with the pop singer and said:
I’m going into the studio with her. I love Britney. I want to help her grow. I want to do stuff that’s going to be able to travel around the world.
Of her surpassing the drama and getting back into the studio, he added:
I’m glad to see her back. I really would like to get into her mind and find out what loving Britney is all about.
So what can fans expect of her new music produced by Garrett? He is said to have given a very big smile before answering, “It could get a little freaky.”
Freaky, eh? Hopefully they aren’t trying to keep up with [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm]‘s provocative nature leading them to focus less on creating great new music, and instead produce “freaky” music in an attempt to give Britney a new edge. “Freaky” doesn’t sell when it’s a gimmick.
