Did Taylor Swift And Kanye West Make Up?
Two of the most talked-about performances during the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards this past Sunday were [lastfm]Taylor Swift[/lastfm]’s “Innocent” and [lastfm]Kanye West[/lastfm]’s “Runaway.” Both of the songs deal either directly or indirectly with last year’s ceremony, when Yeezy rushed the staged during Swift’s acceptance speech. But rumors are that backstage, the two had a pow-wow and that the beef – after a full year – is finally over!
“Kanye got word she was going to do the song about him and wanted to talk it out,” according to an inside source quoted in US Magazine. “Taylor felt bad. They talked and everything is good between them now. … But they promised to keep what they spoke about between them.”
Both artists then later went out and performed. “Innocent” includes the lyrics “32, and still growin’ up now/Who you are is not what you did,” which seems to forgive the rapper (though West, it should be noted, is now 33 years old).
West’s “Runaway,” meanwhile, includes the line “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags,” which many are interpreting to be self-referential.
