Don’t worry: [lastfm]Britney Spears[/lastfm] is not teaching at a songwriting camp. But a group of pop songwriters convened in Texas on a retreat of sorts to work on tracks for Brit’s next album!
Several tweets have caught the eye of gossip-mongers, and the bread crumbs add up to this: Spears and company seem to have flown some top-notch songwriters into Texas in order to put songs together for the pop star’s next release.
One such writer, Neon Hitch, who has written for [lastfm]Ke$ha[/lastfm] and [lastfm]3OH!3[/lastfm], tweeted, “I hate flying, but the reward of writing for Britney in Texas makes it all worth it..!! C u in a few days LA! :)”
Meanwhile, Jive senior Vice President of A&R, Teresa LaBarbera Whites tweeted “having too much fun in Texas with all my songwriting friends!”
Yesterday, she added (seemingly at the end of the camp): “Safe travels home to @EKiddBogart @IamEricB2 @KBriscoe100 @nervomusic …miss y’all already!!” and “safe travels to @tobygad, @oakwud, @popwansel, @neonhitch.”
Going down the list, those writers are Evan Kidd Bogart, Eric B., K. Briscoe, Swedish duo Nervo, Toby Gad, Oak Felder, Andrew Wansel and the aforementioned Hitch.
Other artists could be targets of the songwriting group, too: Jewel’s name came up in a few of the tweets between the writers. We’d list the combined resume for this group, but it’d take up the rest of the Internet. However, we will give you a couple of highlights:
[lastfm]Miike Snow[/lastfm] f/ Neon Hitch – “Burial”:
[lastfm]Rihanna [/lastfm]- “S.O.S.” (written by Even Kidd Bogart):
[lastfm]Britney Spears[/lastfm] – “Womanizer” (Written by K. Briscoe):
With a list of writers like this, can Brit Brit go wrong?
