This month [lastfm]Rihanna[/lastfm] is hitting London in support of her latest record Loud, set to be released in November.
She recently stopped by BBC Radio where she gave a lot of scoop, from making the album to what went down during BFF [lastfm]Katy Perry[/lastfm]’s bachelorette party, with a bit of controversy in between.
According to Radar Online, [lastfm]Rihanna[/lastfm] dissed Perry during the BBC interview, saying:
Every song was tailored to me. I wanted songs that were all Rihanna, songs that nobody else could do. I didn’t want the generic pop record that [lastfm]Ke$ha[/lastfm] or [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] or [lastfm]Katy Perry[/lastfm] would do.
Burn! If you’re anything like me and choose to focus on the positive, there is good news to come out of Rihanna’s swipe at Perry. When asked if she’d ever do a duet with Perry, [lastfm]Rihanna[/lastfm] said she’d love to and that the two are actually in the process of discussing the matter.
It’s nice to hear she’s willing to collaborate on a “generic pop” song and chances are it would be fun and out of the box. We’re really hoping this duet will happen and with all of the collaborations already on Loud, a [lastfm]Katy Perry[/lastfm] one would be a smart last minute addition to the deluxe edition (hint hint, Rihanna).
If you’re like us and can’t get enough RiRi, check her out later this month as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, October 30th.
So AMP listeners, what do you think of this diss and more importantly, what do you think of this possible collaboration? Should it be a dance song or a slow song and who else would you like to see [lastfm]Rihanna [/lastfm]collaborate with?
