[Video] Chris Colfer of ‘Glee’ Speaks Up For LGBT Youth, Is Our New Hero
Sadly, the world has been rife with tragic news about the recent increase in suicides among LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) youth. While this news is heartbreaking, it does give the media and influential celebs the unhindered chance to talk about the LGBT issues that are normally ignored.
After his poignant Glee episode where his character Kurt talks about gay bashing, [lastfm]Chris Colfer[/lastfm] made the perfectly timed decision to release his own, tear-jerking “It Gets Better” video for LGBT youth. Well played, Chris.
Despite being a celebrity, Chris Colfer is a young, gay man and he does know how you feel:
I know what it’s like to be bullied and teased every single day, and I know that it may seem like there is no chance of happiness left. But I promise you, there is a world full of acceptance and love just waiting for you to find it.
