No publicity is bad publicity, the old cliche goes, as long as they spell your name right. But according to [lastfm]Kanye West[/lastfm], the Los Angeles Times failed to do the equivalent of a spelling check when the paper sent a reporter to cover the unveiling of his “Runaway” film earlier this week!
In the original version of the review at the LA Times’ “Pop and Hiss” blog, writer Chris Lee identified West’s upcoming album as My Dark Twisted Fantasy. Lee’s version of the title was missing an adjective, as Yeezy pointed out on Twitter:
Lee later corrected the story, adding a note at the end: “Also, an earlier version misidentified West’s album title as ‘My Dark Twisted Fantasy.’ The correct name is ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.’ SORRY @kanyewest.”
This may be the first time in recorded history that a journalist has apologized to a Twitter handle.
And speaking of handles, did Ye fly off his here? Or was he right to be so upset?
