[Video+Poll] Cee-Lo Sings “F**k You” On Letterman, Only Not Really
No one will deny that ex-[lastfm]Gnarls Barkley[/lastfm], now-Lady Killer vocalist, [lastfm]Cee-Lo Green[/lastfm], is a big boy. And by big boy, we aren’t referring to his size. We are referring to the fact that he is old enough to say some very naughty words…if he wants to.
But last night on the Late Show With David Letterman, Green didn’t even get to do his radio-approved “Forget You” version of his hit “F**k You.” He had to censor himself with…silence. What? We know that the song has a 1960s soul sound, but this is 2010 and a late-night television show. This is not the Brady Bunch.
What we don’t get is why they didn’t just insert the words “forget you” into the chorus, instead of having Cee-Lo Green awkwardly take his microphone away from his mouth. And they let the back-up singers use the “n” bomb? What kind of logic is that?
His red-jumpsuited all-female band is pretty awesome and red-suited Green does a great job covering up for the fact that he is being outrageously censored. We would have been red-faced mad.
