The first mention of a [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] album called Detox came in 2003, when it was rumored that [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] was working on a follow up to his album 2001. Seven years later, and Detox has become Dre’s Chinese Democracy – a long awaited album that now comes with some major expectations.

But if the number of leaked tracks is any indication, we’re now really, really close. Maybe that February 2011 release date will come true!

To this date, we’ve got four new – or relatively new – [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] tracks:

“Under Pressure” (feat. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jay-Z[/lastfm]): The unfinished version of this song, missing a hook and with some production glitches, hit the web in June. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] had originally planned for it to be the first single, but after the leak he admitted that the song will not even make the final cut for the album.

“Turn Me On” – Leaked in August, the title lets you know right where this song is heading. However, a [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] interview in September indicated that no songs that had leaked to that point would make the album, meaning that we might never hear a finished version.

“Kush” (feat. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Snoop Dogg[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Akon[/lastfm]): This is the throwback track that many longtime Dre fans was hoping for. Strong beat, piano loop and Snoop sounding quasi-motivated. If nothing else, Snoop’s boast of being “tighter than the pants on [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]will.i.am[/lastfm]” immediately puts it over the top. This is the first official release from Detox.

I Need A Doctor (feat. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm]): As we told you last week, the latest leak sees [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] collaborating once again, and Em comes with two of his most impassioned verses ever.

Meanwhile, everybody and his or her grandmother is rumored to have a guest spot on the album, from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]50 Cent[/lastfm] to [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Redman[/lastfm] to [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Common[/lastfm]. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] has only confirmed [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Snoop Dogg[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Akon[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jay-Z[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Game[/lastfm] and, in what might be amazing or a train wreck, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]La Roux[/lastfm].

February 2011. Are you ready? Are you amped for it? Or have you…forgotten?
