Last.fm Trends: Grammy Nominees Get Vocal
With the nominations for the 2011 Grammy Awards now out, everyone’s got their opinions on who’ll win. How do the nominees stack up in terms of listeners though?
We’ve got the Last.fm Trends team to look at the top nominees for Best Pop Vocal Performance in both the Male and Female categories, to see who wins in the pop battle of the sexes…
Unsurprisingly, Lady Gaga‘s “Bad Romance” comes head and shoulders above the rest. Her Recent Trend of weekly listeners is on a downward trajectory, but with 7,812,490 scrobbles from 573,105 listeners she’s sitting pretty at the top.
Among the boys, it’s American Idol‘s Adam Lambert that wins the popularity contest – although his listeners trail behind Gaga, Beyoncé and Katy Perry. “Whataya Want From Me,” only Lambert’s second single, is also dropping weekly listeners – but the Grammy nomination could well boost his charts.
