When [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bruno Mars [/lastfm]came into the studio to talk to Carson Daly, we saw a young man so talented, so pure, and so positive, we instantly knew he would be a smash-hit success.
We were right. Singer/songwriter/producer Mars walked away with seven Grammy nominations for his own work and for his golden touch on joints with artists like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]B.O.B[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cee-Lo Green[/lastfm].
Blessed that he managed to showcase his talent without the benefit of fancy studios and giving true to “just the way he is!” Mars elaborates for PEOPLE magazine: “It’s been a hell of a year for all of us, and the fact that we did record these songs not too far from here in this little shabby studio, and here we are with Grammy nominations, is a little surreal. We’re just thankful.”
A little known fact about Mars is that he’s helped other huge artists pen their own Grammy nominated songs, such as Cee-Lo Green’s tune “F**K You.” Mars says it’s one of his favs: “I think that’s one of our favorite songs that we’ve ever produced. And [I’ve] been such a fan of Cee Lo, always wanted to work with him. When we did that song, he just sang the s**t out of it.”
