It started with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kanye West[/lastfm]‘s “G.O.O.D. Fridays.”

Then, producer [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Swizz Beatz[/lastfm] came out with “Monster Mondays.”

Now, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Snoop Dogg[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Timbaland[/lastfm] are both jumping into the weekly release game.

First, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Timbaland[/lastfm] kicked off “Timbaland Thursdays” yesterday by releasing an all new collaboration with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Missy Elliott[/lastfm], entitled “Take Ur Clothes Off.” (NSFW lyrics)

That’s right – a new appearance by Missy! Does this mean that 2011 is when we’ll finally hear the long-rumored Missy and Timbo collaboration Block Party?

Meanwhile, on this coast, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Snoop Dogg[/lastfm] is ready to jump into the weekly release game, too, calling his “Puff Puff Pass Tuesdays.” It’s first unofficial release came this week with his ode to the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend, “El Lay.”

Snoop’s effort feels much more like a finished track than [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Timbaland[/lastfm]‘s, it should be said. Also, lots of LA sports love in the Dogg’s track (but we couldn’t get a shout to David Beckham and the Galaxy?).

However, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Timbaland[/lastfm]‘s series name is much better. No alliteration for the Doggfather? Boo, Snoop. Boooooo.
