It seems as if young people all over the country have really embraced [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry[/lastfm]’s “Firework,” a song about starting over and seeing the beauty in yourself.

In fact, Perry’s music video was so completely inspirational for one Cerritos High School student, that he decided to create his own version.

Julio wanted to show that teachers and students could come together outside of the classroom.

Usually, we don’t really think of teachers outside of school, but Julio’s video shows a more accessible, fun side to his high school teachers that rarely gets seen in the classroom.

Admittedly, it was difficult to get everybody on board with the music video, but once the lyrics where printed and the cameras were rolling, everything worked out.

When you’re watching, pay extra attention to the last scene where the students and teachers are dancing in the quad.  School never looked so fun.

  • What do you think of Julio’s first music video? What songs have inspired you?
