Don’t space out on the next stellar hit to rock the universe. This morning, Carson Daly debuted the fourth single, “E.T.” from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry[/lastfm]’s smash-hit and Grammy-nominated album, Teenage Dream.
The track features a cosmic collaboration with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kanye West[/lastfm], who is well-acquainted with extraterrestrial lovers falling from the sky–like his model-esque phoenix in the provocative hip-hopera video, “Runaway.”
Do Perry and West have enough star power to reach astral heights with the electro-dance tune, “E.T.”? Or are they heading towards a black hole of music?
Judging from the snapshot above, we can’t wait to see Katy Perry’s “E.T.” video featuring Kanye West and directed by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Björk [/lastfm]and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Bowie[/lastfm] music video creator, Floria Sigismondi.
“E.T.” sounds like old-school Eastern European electronic dance-pop tunes from the ’90s, like something from the artist T.A.T.U. West’s ribald lyrics full of alien sex innuendo definitely edge it up and make it less cheesy dance club booty-popper and more “mass appeal.”
