On Wednesday night, we didn’t get to see all of the contestants that American Idol chose for their final twenty-four, but last night we got through the tear-stained pathos long enough to find out who the top twelve girls and boys are who will duke it out in the Hollywood showdown. While American Idol teased us with long-winded ways to announce the final twenty-four above, finalists like Karen Rodriguez tried to woo over Jennifer Lopez with a Selena ballad. Rodriguez has been consistently kissing Lopez’ well-toned booty, but she has a great voice and the flattery is paying off. Rodriguez is in. We love 17-year-old Scotty McCreery’s bass-toned, Elvis-style country crooning and he did a fantastic job on a mature tune called “Long Black Train.” Potty mouth (she asked the judges if they were “sh*ting her”) and author favorite Lauren Alaina brought out her best dollar rack cowgirl couture for a riveting rendition of ”Unchained Melody.”
