One might go so far as to say that this years 83rd Annual Academy Awards was geard towards a much younger crowd.

Hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco were real highlights of this, but it was the auto-tuned video shorts in the middle of the awards show that really proved this.

The academy chose “Harry Potter,” “Twilight” and “The Social Network” creating songs from pivotal scenes in the film and essentially mocking all the things that young people love.

We realize this was supposed to be funny, but on a personal note, it made us cringe like we were watching our parent’s make-out.  The magic of auto-tune and using it, is that it’s funny because it’s mocking something serious, but they even chose films aimed at a younger crowd.

Perhaps it would have come across better had they used some of the nominated films instead of just mocking what youth is actually about.

Still, the most important opinion is yours, was the use of auto-tune it hilarious or lame?  You weigh in by taking our poll!
