Lupe Fiasco has a lot to be happy about: new album Lasers has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and he was set to be a key performer at this year’s SXSW Music before he pulled out yesterday.

Today Trends is looking into his scrobbles, to see how far he’s come.

Lupe’s had 21,924,757 plays from 1,125,019 listeners since 2005, but Lasers is his first album since 2007. His six-month chart is still dominated by that year’s hit “Superstar” from second album The Cool, and it’s his most popular track overall with 1,273,278 scrobbles from 393,973 listeners.

Sampling Modest Mouse‘s “Float On”, it looks sure to get the biggest reaction of his new tracks as he celebrates topping the charts.

But why the hasty exit? Well, apparently his voice needs a rest. Not a bad move; it looks like he’ll be needing it this summer.
