The [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]House of Pain[/lastfm] is in effect Ya’ll! Leave it to the 90’s to produce a smash hit that was not only the most played song at house parties back in the day but also one of the best time machines for anyone who listens to it today.
This week’s throwback is sure to transport you to the good ‘ol 90’s when we would choose acid wash jeans over a pair of skinny’s in a heartbeat.
I can’t listen to this party jam without thinking of jean jackets, neon printed tees, and Robin Williams dancing on a table sporting a backwards cap in Mrs. Doubtfire.
The level of excitement and number of hands thrown up in the air when this song blasts through speakers is still the same since the day the chart topper hit radio waves in 1992.
It’s one of the few songs that can get all the wall flowers to jump up and get down on the dance floor and party like its 1999!
In a nutshell, this song is the BOMB! The music video only heightens the greatness of this rockin’ tune. It’s Boondock Saints meets Beerfest theme makes for a synthesis that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and ear!
This smash hit is the perfect fit for this week’s Throwback Thursday and so appropriate to listen to while celebrating all the festivities St. Patty’s Day has to offer because of the House of Pain’s Irish roots.
The group shows their Irish pride in the video by including tons of references to the rich culture such as shamrocks, leprechauns, beer, Irish step dancers, and pins that read “Kiss Me I’m Irish” among other paraphernalia.
Cheers to the House of Pain for providing the music world with a song that is the epitome of RAD! So go out and celebrate your weekend a day early this week! Don’t forget to wear green–for those of you who forget, beware of pinchers!
For your listening pleasure we present you with “Jump Around” by the House of Pain! Happy St. Patty’s Day from all of us at AMP Radio!
