We had no idea how many hundreds of LA trucks existed until we got spoiled rotten by this weekly tradition.
We’ve had everything from ice cream sandwiches to lobster rolls, but now we’re diving into the world of cheese steak sandwiches with Lee’s Philly!
At Lee’s Philly, cheese steaks are serious business. Listen to owners Bob and Sunny explain how they got hooked on the food truck fad:
The whole idea of a steak sandwich food truck was born when one of the chefs took a trip to Philadelphia in search of the tastiest cheese steak.
He spent months researching and observing in the kitchens of the top sandwich shops. When he returned to Southern California, he was determined to bring that delicious flavor back to all of us Los Angelenos.
The food truck business has a die-hard cult following in LA, so the Lee’s Philly founders decided to put their idea on wheels.
But Lee’s Philly is more than just your run-of-the-mill cheese steak.
They fuse together American, Mexican, and Korean flavors in all of their entrees. For example, you’ll find Korean-style Gogi beef in their sandwiches and the truck also serves several tacos and burritos.
