Just like last year on April Fool’s Day, Funny Or Die picked a teenage pop “superstar.”
In 2010 it was [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Justin Bieber[/lastfm], but this year, this special foolish “Friday,” Funny or Die turned into “Friday or Die” and gave the comedic reigns over to the pint-sized brunette that both[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Lady Gaga[/lastfm] and[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Simon Cowell[/lastfm] labeled as genius—[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rebecca Black[/lastfm]!
Here Funny or Die spoofs VH1‘s “Behind the Music” with its own version called “Betwixt the Music.”
Our favorite line is: “If you STILL like music, we heard of a place that will make you a video. God! I can’t believe that was almost a month ago.”
While that is hilarious, our favorite video is when Rebecca Black does an “oh-so-serious” analysis of her “Friday” lyrics including citing some of her favorite musicians as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Tori Amos [/lastfm]and[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Leonard Cohen[/lastfm].
And when they re-mix her with[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] The Cure[/lastfm]’s famous song, “Friday I’m In Love.”
Black is impossibly charming and we see television or movie star potential in her future. And it seems, we aren’t the only ones.
Several “Fridays” later, Black is still thanking her fans profusely for their love.
