Music’s most infectious vocalist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cee-Lo Green[/lastfm] keeps himself plenty busy.
Between his on-stage appearances with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Muppets[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Gweneth Paltrow[/lastfm], being a judge on The Voice with our pal Carson Daly and celebrating the triple platinum status of his hit single “Forget You” you think that he’d be all out of time to do anything else.
However, it turns out that he isn’t too busy to lend his time and voice to a good cause.
The singing half of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Gnarls Barkley[/lastfm] has agreed to partner with Duracell batteries to re-write his hit, “Forget You” as a “Thank You” tribute to firefighters everywhere.
According to sources, the song, entitled “Thank You” will be used in an upcoming Duracell promotion and fundraiser that donates batteries to volunteer fire departments.
Something tells us, that while the tune will remain the same, we’re willing to bet that Cee Lo won’t be comparing his Atari to an Xbox in the revamped version of the song.
This isn’t the songs first remake though. As many of you might know, the original version called “F**k You” had to be re-recorded for radio. Although the words are different in “Forget You” the meaning is still clearly the same.
We’re excited to hear what the third installment of this song is going to sound like. It’s pretty probable that it’ll be stuck in our heads for at least a week after it comes out. At least! And the video is going to be even more amazing than the original.
