Us foodies here at AMP Radio are always up for trying something new, so we were just a tad giddy when we heard which truck was rolling up to the studios for Food Truck Friday!

We’re kicking things up a notch with Ragin Cajun On Wheels, a truck devoted to spicy New Orleans cuisine.

So grab your Mardi Gras beads and join in on the fun!

Just like his bold flavors, owner Stephen is loud and proud!

Check out what he had to share with our morning show guru, Carson Daly:

Ragin Cajun On Wheels was actually inspired by Stephen’s restaurant he ran in Hermosa Beach for more than 19 years.

While that location shut down earlier this year, Stephen plans to reopen his cafe in El Segundo within the next few months.

Ragin Cajun specializes in all sorts of yummy Cajun food like po’boys, gumbo, and jambalaya.

They even cook up a hybrid dish, gumbolaya, which is gumbo served over jambalaya.

All the recipes were passed down from Stephen’s mother, who grew up in the South.

His mother’s family owned Trappey’s, a famous hot sauce and canning factory, so naturally, fans of the truck rave about their spicy flavors.

The whole Ragin Cajun crew even competed on the Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, where they battled the best of the best in a nationwide contest!

Our favorite part about Food Truck Friday is sharing it with our awesome AMP Radio listeners. Congrats to today’s lucky winner. We hooked them up with a free lunch for their whole office!

If you’d like to score some free food truck grub, tune in to Carson on Friday mornings!
