Musician and comedian [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Weird Al Yankovic[/lastfm] is famous for taking some of the most well known songs in history and making clever parodies out of them including: [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nirvana[/lastfm]‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]‘s “Beat It.”
On his latest album, he dedicated a track to [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm]‘s single “Born This Way,” but the artist and Mother Monster was not having any of it and did not give her permission for him to use it on his album.
However, that didn’t stop him from putting “Perform This Way” on Youtube for everyone else to enjoy.
Was Lady Gaga right to deny Weird Al access to her song even if the proceeds would have gone to the Human Rights Campaign?
Or should she have lightened up, it is a funny parody paying homage to her excellent ability to rise to the top of the music industry? Let us know in the comments!
