Last night, we were had a nightclub full of young twenty-somethings and the DJ played Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me.” While everyone kept dancing, we heard a girl ask her friend, “Who is this? It’s good, but I’ve never heard it.” That’s because it came out eleven years ago–when she was about 10-years-old. Yikes.

We started to think of all the dance songs that fell through the cracks, when ten years ago they used to light a fire to the dance floor. So once a week on Friday, we’ll bring you our Top Ten Dance Hits from a particular year. This time around we’ve chosen the dawn of the decade–2000.

Some of the songs are amazing; some of the songs are amazingly bad.

We aren’t sure what is creepier–the content of this song, how women used to wear their thongs as accessories, Sisqo’s weird bleached-out hair, or the way the video for this song begins with a child holding up a pair of thong underwear.

Either way, we remember that this was one of our favorite guilty pleasure dance tracks while we were watching MTV’s Spring Break.
