Having a sold out show at The Palladium in Hollywood is pretty kick-ass and when you have as many hits as [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ke$ha[/lastfm]‘s had over the past year or so it’s pretty much expected.
Animal print clothing, neon paint, blue lipstick and all, I got a chance to catch up with the glitter goddess to see how she’s been enjoying her first headlining tour.

First of all, if you made it out to her show you know that it was basically a giant dance party.
People came in character and more impressive, in costume.
Ke$ha describes what the typical crowd at her concert:
You know what the crazy thing is? It’s so different, like, every night it’s different. Sometimes, I pull people up on stage and it can be anywhere from an 11-year-old to, I had a 33-year-old metal-head named Dante who was decked out and looked like a pirate.

With such a diverse fan base it’s no surprise why she’s been so insanely popular, not to mention she’s released a total of 3 CDs, and all are recent releases!
Her latest, I Am The Dance Commander + I Command You To Dance includes remixes of all her singles.
What does she consider the best track?
My personal favorite is ‘Sleazy’ with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Andre3000[/lastfm] who’s one of my favorite lyricists, one of the best lyricists of all time.

Not only has she been releasing her own music but what you might not know is Ke$ha writes a lot of music (music you’ve definitely heard on AMP Radio) for other artists.
The most popular one right now is “Till The World Ends” which is by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Britney Spears[/lastfm].
How awesome is that?
I wrote that song for Britney. I sat down with her in mind and I tried to put my brain into her brain and make what I think I do best, which is like a dance anthem.
I’ve been writing songs since I was 13, my mom’s a songwriter. Writing just is in my blood and I consider myself a writer first.
I’ve also written a song for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Miley Cyrus[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Veronicas[/lastfm] so Britney wasn’t the first but she’s obviously an icon.

So aside from music, how are things going for Ke$ha? It’s pretty well known now that she’s into a certain type of man.
Preferably, with a beard as mentioned in the last line of ‘We R Who We R’ so I had to ask about why it was she chose James Van Der Beek aka Dawson for the lead in her ‘Blow’ music video.
I was expecting her celeb crush Zach Galifianakis.
Van Der Douche was actually our first choice! We picked him just kind of randomly thinking like, my wish list.
The director and I just randomly picked him thinking ‘Would he? Wouldhe?’
And it was just magical! He said ‘Yes’ was the nicest guy in the world.
I felt kinda bad for killing him at the end of the video, but it had to be done.

See the full video interview below! If you missed her this time, no worries, she extended her tour and will be at Gibson Amphitheatre along with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]LMFAO[/lastfm] (appropriately called the Spank Rock Tour) September 17.
Tickets are on sale now and you can get her remix CD now, too.
If you haven’t seen my favorite [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ke$ha[/lastfm] video featuring James Van Der Beek, check out ‘Blow’!
