Tackling the very intimate subject of domestic abuse in the video for her fifth Loud single, “Man Down,” [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rihanna[/lastfm] utilizes both the tropical beauty and apparent poverty of Kingston, Jamaica to highlight her murderous rage.

Thankfully for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Chris Brown[/lastfm] (and her amazing music career), Rihanna channels her angry energy into music and not wielding a deadly firearm.

Although we absolutely love the storytelling and visuals of the video, the message behind the lyrics are contradictory when she says she “didn’t mean to hurt him,” but very obviously shoots a man in cold-blood.

Regardless, we are glad Rihanna had the bravery to tackle a subject that has seemingly gone publically unchecked in her life.

Is RiRi finally courageous enough to let the demons out of the closet?

She even glosses over the subject on Twitter when she tells girls it could happen to “ANY of us.”
