According to Billboard, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine will soon be teaming up for more than just TV duties, as they’ve recorded a duet together. Today Last.fm Trends is looking at the pop diva vs. the rock star, to see what they can both bring to the collaboration.
Xtina just about beats Maroon 5, with 45,091,737 plays from 1,826,127 listeners compared to their 43,115,533 plays and 1,825,467 listeners. With over a million listeners apiece however, a duet that spanned both their fanbases would be a certified smash.
Over the past six months, the two acts’ charts tell different stories: Aguilera has one of her latest songs on top, whilst Maroon 5’s fans are sticking with their old favorites.
“Not Myself Tonight” is seeing a downward Recent Listening Trend, but it proves that fans are listening to Bionic‘s tracks. With less listeners than #2 track “Genie In A Bottle”, its popularity outstrips her debut, with an average of twelve plays per listener compared to “Genie” with only four.
Comparatively, Maroon 5 see a very steady Recent Listening Trend for their 2003 track. A new duet with Aguilera may bring Levine’s fans a breath of fresh air, and lend her a voice that’s kept solid popularity for eight years.
