Being Britney Spears certainly has it’s perks, but as we’ve come to realize over the last few years, there’s plenty of pitfalls being pop’s reigning princess.
But her former beau and my consistent crush Justin Timberlake defended Miss Britney Jean in a recent interview.
Be still my heart!
While speaking with Playboy, Justin Timberlake was asked about his former flame’s ability to dance now versus when she started in the industry and was a dancing machine.
More specifically, pointing out a video online that compares Britney’s dancing from earlier in her career to now.
And Justin knew what they were talking about and said:
The internet is a cruel place. What a f***ed-up thing to do.
Which began a rant, not only defending Brit Brit, but points out that he too could easily be crucified for not being on the top of his performing since he’s moved onto focusing on acting, saying:
I don’t have too much to say about her situation.I can’t remember the last conversation I had with her.
But this thing that happens online bothers me—these anonymous commenters. People think they can say anything and it doesn’t matter to people.
I’d love to see the people who comment about Britney online say those things to her face, because they couldn’t.
Also, in Britney’s defense, if you pulled up a video I did from 2003, I couldn’t do the s**t I did then either.
It’s incredible, that no matter what went on between Justin & Britney in the past Justin can relate to the scrutiny that Britney Spears is constantly under.
Also, it’s refreshing to have someone who’s a crossover superstar like him admit that if he were put on stage right now he wouldn’t be at the caliber he was at dance-wise in 2003.
Now I need to watch Justin back in 2003 when he brought “Sexy Back” and hope he decides to get up to the mic and do it again.
