To say we are fans of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm] is quite possibly the understatement of the century.
Every time her tracks play on AMP Radio, we proudly sing them at the top of our lungs.
We totally got belly button piercings in high school because we wanted to be just like her and we may or may not have memorized the entire dance to ‘Oops!…I Did It Again.’
So when our bosses here at AMP handed us tickets to Brit Brit’s big STAPLES Center concert, we freaked out a little…okay A LOT!
But as phone op Christen and I stepped inside the arena, we wondered if the Princess of Pop could live up to our childhood memories…
Since Britney first stepped on the scene, she’s been through a lot of ups and downs.
Through both the good and bad times, we’ve always supported her, but we were beginning to wonder if she had lost the drive to perform.
Well, we shouldn’t have doubted Britney for a second because she made it crystal clear last night that she won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
From start to finish, Britney had the entire STAPLES Center audience jumping out of their seats.
Some of Britney’s naysayers claimed her dancing days were over, but we thought the Femme Fatale performed spectacularly, especially in light of the debiltating knee injury she suffered during her 2004 Onyx Hotel tour.
She plowed through an impressive 22-song setlist, which included old favorites like “…Baby One More Time.”
We were lucky enough to be seated by the VIP entrance, where we watched stars [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Paris Hilton[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kim Kardashian[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nicole Richie[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Perez Hilton[/lastfm] rock out to the infectious beats.
And just when we thought STAPLES Center couldn’t get any more crazy, Britney busted out her new hit single, “I Wanna Go.”
The place erupted with fist pumping and jumping, proving that no matter what the headlines say, Miss Britney Jean will always have her legion of fans to support her.
Sure, Britney may not sing live too often, but she’s an entertainer from head to toe.
People are quick to criticize the mother-of-two about her personal life, but she last night proved that the best revenge is to put on one of the biggest concerts that STAPLES Center will see this year.
I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again: Britney’s back and better than ever!
