After taking a little holiday break from Food Truck Friday, we’re back in action today!
It’s summer. It’s hot, so naturally, we’re in the mood for an old fashioned pig roast.
Well, talk about good timing!
For Flying Pig, it’s all about the fusion of Asian and Pacific Rim flavors made with French techniques.
Chef Joe Kim, who studied at the Cordon Bleu culinary school, is aiming to elevate the quality of street food, serving up gourmet tacos and sliders to the masses.
But don’t worry, vegetarians! They also have tofu options unless you can’t shake the image Babe and Wilbur whenever pork appears on your plate.
The truck launched all the way back in October 2009 and they’ve been riding a wave of success ever since.
The truck’s following has grown so much, the owners decided it was time to establish a brick-and-mortar Flying Pig Cafe.
They will serve larger portions of the truck’s signature items, plus new creations as well.
The restaurant is located in Little Tokyo and officially opens its doors on Saturday, July 16.
