After taking a little holiday break from Food Truck Friday, we’re back in action today!

It’s summer. It’s hot, so naturally, we’re in the mood for an old fashioned pig roast.

Well, talk about good timing!

The Flying Pig is stopping by the AMP Radio studios to show us why it’s one of LA’s most popular trucks!

Marat and Ashley from the Flying Pig team explained to Carson how they gained such a devoted following on the streets of SoCal.

For Flying Pig, it’s all about the fusion of Asian and Pacific Rim flavors made with French techniques.

Chef Joe Kim, who studied at the Cordon Bleu culinary school, is aiming to elevate the quality of street food, serving up gourmet tacos and sliders to the masses.

But don’t worry, vegetarians! They also have tofu options unless you can’t shake the image Babe and Wilbur whenever pork appears on your plate.

The truck launched all the way back in October 2009 and they’ve been riding a wave of success ever since.

Flying Pig appeared on an episode of The Oprah Show and their Crunchy Tofu Taco recipe was even featured in Food & Wine magazine’s May 2010 issue.

The truck’s following has grown so much, the owners decided it was time to establish a brick-and-mortar Flying Pig Cafe.

They will serve larger portions of the truck’s signature items, plus new creations as well.

The restaurant is located in Little Tokyo and officially opens its doors on Saturday, July 16.

This spread was too delicious to keep all to ourselves, so we sent Flying Pig to the office of one morning show listener.

Congratulations to our lucky winner! They scored a free Food Truck Friday feast!

If you want to get in on the excitement, listen to Carson every Friday for your next chance to win.

In the meantime, find out where the Flying Pig truck is heading next by checking out their website or following them on Twitter!
