With alter egos like Roman & Barbie, she’s the queen of crazy voices, which makes her the perfect fit for latest Ice Age animated film.
But how exactly did Nicki make the transition to the silver screen? She recently shared the behind-the-scenes details about how she landed a role in the movie!

Nicki joins a star-studded cast in Ice Age: Continenal Drift. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jennifer Lopez[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Queen Latifah[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Drake[/lastfm] all sat in for voice-overs.
But the gig wasn’t just handed over to Nicki; She really had to work for it!
The original role that I was up for I didn’t get. So I said, ‘Oh, OK, whatever.’ I was really mad, and the next thing you know, they called me and they said, ‘We wrote in a part just for you ’cause we really want you to be a part of this movie.
The 28-year-old was such an overachiever, she recorded two different voices for the producers and let them decide which one was the best fit for the film.
I just was screaming and so excited, and I went in and I had a blast. I did it as two different voices. We’ll see what happens.
Ice Age: Continenal Drift is scheduled to be released in theaters next June.
