The big news coming out of Sunday’s VMAs had nothing to do with awards.

Besides being absolutely adorable, the breaking news set social media networks ablaze, setting an impressive new record.
It all started when a glowing [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beyonce[/lastfm] took her walk down the black carpet, showing off her growing belly.
She got even more people talking during her performance of “Love On Top” when at the end, she opened her blazer and proudly displayed her baby bump to the crowd.
Naturally, Twitter exploded with the happy news.
According to the social network’s official PR account, news of B’s pregnancy officially broke the record of most tweets per second.
Exactly how nuts did things get? At 10:35 EST, people were sending 8,868 tweets per second!
The previous record was set during the women’s World Cup Final when Team USA lost to Japan.
