[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bruno Mars[/lastfm] may love you “just the way you are,” but the same can’t be said about his relationship with his music publisher.

Things have gotten so bad, the singer filed a lawsuit against Bug Music, Inc. because he wants to be released from his contract!

Why has this all gone sour? We need answers!

TMZ is reporting that [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bruno Mars[/lastfm] filed documents in the L.A. County Superior Courts claiming that he’s held up his end of the bargain.

Basically, they agreed upon of certain number of songs that he would write and the singer claims he has delivered that.

When it came time for the publishing company to decide whether they wanted to continue their relationship with Bruno, he maintains that Bug Music went radio silent.

Since the “Grenade” singer says he was never contacted, he assumed that their agreement was terminated.

But that’s not how the publisher feels. Bug Music believes they are still entitled to 50% of the copyrights on Bruno’s music.

So now, the 25-year-old entertainer is asking a judge to officially declare an end to the contract so he can move on and make more music without the publisher’s involvement.

What a bummer! We hope all this legal mumbo jumbo won’t delay Bruno from releasing new music for too long!

While we wait for everything to be sorted out, we’ll have to be content re-watching his awesome cover of “Valerie” during the MTV VMA [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Amy Winehouse[/lastfm] tribute!
